Trip Day 3

Day 3 - Sunday - This is where we stayed

There was a hot tub that no one used because after the 18 or 12 mile hike we were toast and just wanted dinner and sleep

Casey held down the fort while we went on the hike. He wanted to go but sprained his ankle on Friday before the hike - happily he is feeling better

After our 18 mile hike through and around Yosemite Shon and I decided to go see the big sequoias - the BIG Trees as they are lovingly called. We had some adventures along the way ...

 

We stopped at the Wanona Hotel - second oldest only to the Coranado in San Diego

The grounds were small but nice. There we found out that to get to the BIG TREES we were to take a shuttle as the parking is very limited

 

After talking to the attendant :) we purchased tickets for the tram ride to see the trees. for the $26 we got to ride the 7 mile loop and hear the commentary about the trees and their history

 

I took lots more pictures of the trees they were huge a beautiful - I will post more later

The other guys (Chi, Jason, Clint, Russ and Casey) went on a rafting adventure - I will post pictures of that later as well

 

So after the trees we headed to Sacramento about a 3 hour drive

 

We met for dinner at Johnny Garlics

After dinner we all headed to our hotels for a good nights sleep

Trip day 2 - the hike

Day 2 of our Trip started early on Saturday morning - first there was breakfast consisting of fruit, turkey & apple sausage, egg omelets, French toast and juice. then we all packed a sandwich and planned out the hike .... the "easy hike" about 8 miles or the "hard hike" about 12 miles .... ha ha 
Shon and I opted for the hard one ... 4 mile to panorama to Glacier Point and down the mist trail ... the easy one started at Glacier Point. The people doing the easy one met the rest of us at Glacier Point for lunch - with packs packed with water and snacks we were on our way.

So the short hike ended up being just about 12 miles ...

the long hike was just about 18 miles

 

needless to say we were all worn out!

TRIP Day 1

Trip!

Day 1 - Friday

 

 In packing for the trip the kitties tried to go ... Lucky in the suitcase checking things out

 

On Friday Shon had to work half the day while I mowed the yard and picked up branches from the bad storm Thursday - I was VERY happy to get the yard mowed and everything looking pretty so we could be gone.

Anyone who says they sleep on a plane are full of crap ... not a good sleep

 

We got to Sacramento 30 minutes late - by the time we got our bags and car and got on the road it was 4AM before we got to the cabin. We took in what we had to have to go to sleep and 3 hours later we were up and moving ... by 9 we had eaten breakfast and were on the way to a great hike!

Grand ma ma ma and our Auntie will be taking care of us - we all get to stay home and they will come feed us and play with us and scoop out our boxes ... in the mean time our blog will be the TRIP blog for the duration of thier trip ... Momy will be posting of the things they see and do .... WITHOUT US

Updates on Ralph Mama Smokey and the rest of the gang

I am happy to report that RALPH has found his way home and was sitting on his porch this morning asking for breakfast. His parents had been so upset ... they papered the area with flyers, went door to door, called every vet clinic in the area, went to the "pound" daily and called too .. .and here he was this morning ready for food and a nap. We are SO happy he is home.

Mama goes this afternoon to get her stitches out :) she was chasing her tail the last 2 nights so I think she is feeling better. She let herself outside yesterday while i was in the yard picking up sticks. She laid in the grass for about 30 minutes and was ready to go back in. She is still eating good and has had no reason for her meds so I think she is doing great right now.hopefully we cna go more than a month without stitches.

Smokey is doing well. He is very playful - he plays big and sleeps big - his itchiness has gotten better and his scabs have healed, his coat is so soft and full and he is just happy.

Spike has been around here and there - evening before last he was out at moms, he growled and hissed and I loved on him, gave him some dinner and now he wont leave her back door. He is such a funny guy.

I made them all mad the other night. I was standing in the floor and all i could hear was licking and scratching six of my lovelies were digging is some manner ... so they ALL got the flea goo ... I use Advantage Plus so that it takes care of worms etc as well. Of course you would have thought I was killing them ... and they were mad for the night (cat free bed all night) but they seem back to normal now. And less licking :)
