Love

Love is laying in the recliner with 5 cats ... Love is sleeping with a sick cat in not your bed, but on the floor or in the chair or on the sofa to keep them warm and safe. Love is giving them all you can for as long as you can ... Love is being willing and able to make the hardest decisions even tho you don't want to ... Love is a big deaf 1/2 blind cat (Smokey) cleaning the ears of a little tiny really sick cat (Mama) and just wanting to be near her

Shon and I talked last night about needing to make some decisions about Mama .. he laid in the recliner with her and petted her for a long time. When we went to bed he took her with him and tucked her under the covers on a towel. About 4am her took her to her bed in her room. Just a bit ago he left for a fire call (he is a volunteer fire fighter) I went in to check on her and she had made the journey across the bridge in her bed. I will post more later.

    Yes it is love and that is what will sustain you now. The love is forever, the loss you feel now while excruciating painful will be eased by that love. I am very sorry for the loss of Mama. There are no words that can be of comfort, but just know there are so many of us who have and do walk the same path you are now on.     I am so so so sorry for you all. I know it;s heartbreaking but she was ready to leave for the Bridge and she went peacefully, loved and without fear. My eyes are really leaking though because I saw all the love she had. That is so wonderful. I wish I had known her before this day.

    So sorry for your loss.....it's one of the hardest things to go through we know. We hope a sense of peace will come soon knowing Mama is happy, healthy, and running free. It does sound like she went peacefully and quietly in her sleep which is of course what we want for all our pets as well as ourselves! Bless you all.....

    Mama Cat indeed was loved. After a bad start in life, she had the best that could be given. She died in a home full of affection, surrounded by the smells and sounds she knew well. Godspeed, Mama Cat.
